The Nutcracker presented by Royal City Youth Ballet Company

I love the Nutcracker. The trick is finding someone here (Vancouver family) that will go with me. (And not fall asleep)
Luckily, I have been blessed with a little God-daughter that loves ballet. She takes ballet and loves dancing.

This year I got a chance to take her to her first ballet, The Nutcracker presented by Royal City Ballet Company held at the Surrey Arts Centre. We had a great time. Her eyes lit up at the Party Scene, and she said "ohhh princesses". We had front row seats and it was magical.

Clara was played by Tiffany Roan, who had a beautiful innocence to her.
The Arabian dance in the Land of Sweets, almost stole the whole show. The male dancer was Davi Rodrigues, and I am not sure who the female was because they had two names listed, but she was gorgeous. They both danced so well, with such emotion that it really could have taken the whole show.

Between the beautiful Clara, The Arabian Dance and the beloved Sugar Plum Fairy Dance (come on you know you secretly want to be the Sugar Plum Fairy). The show was a wonderful first time experience for my three year old God-daughter. It kept her entertained and she was even dancing in the lobby during intermission.

The Nutcracker is such a great Christmas experience; if you haven’t been I suggest trying it, at least once!
